Pianist, and more?
Born and raised in Hong Kong, pianist Zac Leung is known for his versatility as both a soloist and a collaborator. Leung was the winner at Budapest Liszt Ferenc
Piano Competition and Princeton Festival’s Piano Competition. He was also awarded Second Prize at the International Fringe Music Festival’s Open Competition and International Amadeus Piano Competition.
Leung is active in collaborative performances and has worked extensively with instrumentalists and vocalists. Passionate about music across different genres, he is the pianist of Solaris Quintet, a group that has performed in a variety of professional venues and community outreach engagements in an effort to fuse chamber music standards with lesser-known works in the quintet repertory. He is also experienced in choral accompanying, having collaborated with youth choirs and award-winning contemporary vocal ensemble NOTUS in concert settings and international choral festivals.
Committed to bringing contemporary repertoire to the Hongkong classical music scene, Leung co-founded SoundZpace HK where he curates music programs that bring classical and contemporary music together. Leung earned a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music under the guidance of Emile Naoumoff and Futaba Niekawa (chamber music). He previously studied with Rachel Cheung in Hong Kong and is now mentored by pianist Kajeng Wong.
